I have been TERRIBLE about updating this blog....I haven't added one picture since Halloween...wow, that's bad!!! I did have a major virus on our computer...which I didn't fix for months...so that's my excuse!!! I've tried to update our lives since Halloween with as few pictures as possible. We have been SUPER busy!!! I went back to work in January...I was a floating 1st grade teacher...that means the 4 classrooms had 25 kids per room (which is more than they are suppose to have) BUT they used me as a floater teacher going from room to room. Then one of the teacher's had a baby and was on maternity leave for 13 weeks and I took over her class, which was an adventure!!! I enjoyed going back to work, but wow we were going non-stop, between school, dance and working out at the gym, I never stopped. Matt's business has skyrocketed, which is great, he is SUPER Busy....actually right now it a Friday night...at 3:00 am and he has been sitting in the kitchen working since about 11pm!!! That's an every night thing, he is working so hard, I'm very proud of him and his hard work!!! Maggie and Gracie and myself are super excited that it's summer and we can sleep late!!! Yee Haw!!! We Dixon's like to sleep late!!!! We are leaving for Pensacola next Friday, so I promise to post dance recital and beach pictures as soon as we return.

The same day as Gracie's picnic was Maggie's beach day. The Kindergarteners have a day full of sprinklers, pools, games, kites, chalk, play dough and TONS more. I was running back and forth between the picnic and beach day...what a fun day off for mom!!!

We spent Memorial Day at Tye and Krissy's house. About half way through the day the rains came!!! As you can see from this picture the kids didn't mind at all, they were having a blast. BUT, the dad's got caught out in the yard and were hiding under the fort for cover!!!

PLAY DAY!!! I took a million pictures this day, it was very hard to pick just a few. This was about half way through the day, she was having a great time, but it was hot and a long day.

She actually did the mega slide!!!

That is Matt standing next to this massive slide. We were amazed, we've never seen one this big. It was huge and looked really fun....it's a water slide. Matt asked the guy how tall it was....are you ready.....64 feet HIGH....I swear....you could see it over the top of the school building. Craziness!!! I was shocked and very proud of her for sliding down...she can be a scaredy cat like me sometimes...I'm trying to make her do things and not be scared!!! You only live once, right!!!

This is so Maggie...she is suppose to be racing...but all she can do is look at me and pose for a picture!!!

Great picture...look at the concentration....the determination...that tongue hanging out....I guess it helped her to run faster!!! Thank goodness she has enough of Matt in her to be competitive and want to win!!!

Last day of Sunshine School!!!

Bluebonnet pictures were very hard this year...don't know why??? The girls were not in the mood and the wind was not helping. This is the best one I could find....I like them looking at each other, very sweet.

I forgot these two from the All Star review...Gracie was dancing with one of the captains. She was not shy at all...she has no problem being up on stage!!!

WOW...#6!!! She lost 4 teeth right in a row...she is so toothless it's hillarious. I love the way she is talking, so funny!!!

Feeding the ducks in our backyard. We had a boy and girl duck hanging around our street for about a month.

Maggie's first school field trip!!! The Dallas Zoo!! We made it all morning with no rain until around noon and then the sky fell!!! The girls were all trying to hid under this one umbrella, so funny. We had a great time even in the rain.

All Star Review...The girls were mascots for the drill team at Mesquite this year and they danced at the end. I left the photo taking up to Matt....I should have taken them, this was the best one!!! I love him dearly, but photography is not his thing.

Matt's big 34!!!

#5!!! This one was TERRIBLE!!! I was tired of looking at it hanging sideways!!! BUT, once we got to pulling and shaking the tooth wasn't as lose as we thought. I think it took an hour to pull....nightmare...just ask Gimmie. She was spending the night with us and the screaming and craziness was so bad that she went and hid in the bathroom....she says she was taking a bath, but it was a really long one!!! OH, girls and the drama!!!

I love this one....Matt is helping her ride without training wheels. She really needs a new bike, she has about out grown this one. I love how Matt is ready to save his baby from going into those bushes!!!

Easter Morning...Maggie is going to be so mad at me for posting this with her in her panties!

Tooth number 4!!! I think this was the tooth that fell out while her daddy was brushing her teeth before school.

NO THIS IS NOT A FLASH BACK PICTURE.... this is actually us at a shower for some friends of ours. Any excuse for us to dress up and act a fool, we will find a way. We gave some friends of ours a baby shower...but....it was a high school reunion theme....come as you were your senior year. No, that isn't my actual uniform, but I did manage to squeeze myself into one....the boots are a size 9....I wear a 10....I wore them long enough to take a picture. That is my homecoming mum from 1992....I made Matt's!!! HAHA

The girls read ALL the time, it's wonderful to watch and hear. Before Kindergarten started she was already starting to read, but now that's is summer, WOW, she is doing an awesome job reading. Every night she falls asleep reading, I'm so proud of her.

I always decorate the girls room the night before their birthday. This is Maggie Ann on the morning of her 6th birthday...wow, already 6!!!

Our church, Mimosa Lane, had a parking lot FULL of cars and games for the kids. They had such a great time. Some of the cars were very creative and the games were lots of fun. The girls filled their pumpkins quick with candy. I just picked a few of them playing games, I swear I have 30!! We are so blessed to be at Mimosa. We have all made wonderful, life-long friends. Everytime the girls would see their friends they would run up and hug on them and want a picture, so sweet.

While Matt was watching UT play football, us girls carved pumpkins!!! And YES, I carved both pumpkins....pretty good, right!!! I do have a few hidden talents!!! Maggie jumped right in, she had no problem getting her hands dirty. Gracie, is another story....little Miss. Drama!!! She didn't want anything to do with her hands going into that pumpkin. She did finally change her mind and decided to help us out.

October 20-24, was Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon week is the drug free week at Mesquite ISD. Maggie's school had a different spirit day all week, crazy hair day, pj day, red white and blue day...I didn't get pictures of the other days. Crazy hair day we were a little late to school....wow that took longer than I expected!!! Of course she loved pj day, who wouldn't.

Here she is....the future super star model herself....Miss Gracie Mae Dixon. A typical Monday at the Dixon house is Gracie and myself in our pjs....all day. I'm working part time at Tosch Elem. in Mesquite and Mondays are my days off. Gracie and I take full advantage of this day....it's our pj day. I was cleaning the kitchen yesterday morning and noticed her in the window, she was watching the birds. When I grabbed the camera she started posing. Typical girl, I guess.

The fair is such a fun time....fried foods, crazy rides, stinky animals, stinky people, stinky trash, and all at such a low cost.....yea right!!!! Thank goodness it only happens one time a year!!!! For at least the past 4 months Maggie has asked, "when are we going to the fair?" She has talked about it, written about it at school, she's seemed so exited. BUT, that all changes the second we get out of the car!!!!!!!!! Both the girls have been every year since they were born. We took Gracie when she was maybe 3 weeks old. And every year the same thing.....Maggie freaks out if you get any where near Big Tex!!! She turns into this strange child that none of us has ever seen before. I swear it is the weirdest thing EVER!!!! Makes my day as the mom, just dandy. Matt and I decided that we were only going 1 time this year, so all the grandparents and uncles and aunts went (expect Liz and Shane, who we missed). I wanted to get a group pictures, but once again I failed at the picture taking. The day was fun, the kids LOVED the rides ( I didn't post all the pic's, too many). As always the food was just great.....fried, fried and more fried, we all came home with a tummy ache. I keep praying that one year we can go and not panic or freak at the sight of Big Tex!!!! OH.......WE SAW JESSICA SIMPSON!!!! She was having a concert that night. There is a great picture of Matt and his dad waiting for her to come out on the stage, they were very excited!!! We just wanted to see her for maybe one song......WOW, she is TERRIBLE in person!!!!! We didn't even listen to half the song. Another year at the State Fair of Texas!!!

After Gracie's party Wyatt spent the night with us.....wow, they had a great time. This is what happens after a very, hard day of playing at the park. Since there's three of them and the girls have twin beds I took off their mattresses and layed them on maggie's floor. They thought that was the coolest thing ever!! Of course the next moring we had to get donuts. Then we were off to the Skeeter game.

Gracie wanted to have her party at the park in Sunnyvale again this year and it had to be a Mickey Mouse theme. It ended up being a great place to have the party, because everyone we invited came!!! Wow, we are truely blessed to have so many wonderful friends and such an awesome family. I think there were 28 kids!!!! WOW!!!! For some reason this year I was HORRIBLE with the picture taking, which usually I'm great at??? I'm not sure what happened???? Hopefully she won't need years of counseling!!! One big thing I learned....NO PINK ICING!!!! Wow, that was hard to get off their faces. Matt and I still can't believe our Gracie girl is already 3. What a fun and exciting day.

We got a call this morning from the drill team director at MHS asking if we had paid off the newspaper, because the girls were on the front page. The crazy thing is that there were 5 little girls that night and how lucky we are that the paper picked this pic with both the girls. Aren't they cute!!!

We had our first Skeeter (Mesquite High School) football game this friday. WOW, it was SO humid and hot and just plain nasty outside that night!! OH, how we love Texas. For those of you who may not know this about our family, we have long, long roots at MHS. My dad's parents, went to MHS...dated, went to prom and got married. My mom and dad went to MHS...dated, went to prom and got married. His two brother's and their wives went to MHS...dated, went to prom and got married. Matt and I went to MHS...dated and married. My brother, Sam, my two cousin's Allison and Lauren, Matt's sisters, Elizabeth and Rachel and even his mom ALL went to MHS!!!!!!!!! CRAZINESS. AND Matt was a teacher and coached at MHS. So, it's no surprise that our girls are now mascots for the drill team. OH, that my mom, aunt, cousin and myself were all on...the All Stars. Maggie was one of the mascots last year, so she is an old pro at halftime. This was Gracie's first time on the big field and she did great. They had a lot of fun and they sure are cute!!! They actually do a lot for a 5 and 3 year old. They stand with the drill team during pregame, where the football team runs through. Then after the drill team performs they run on the field to their captain and walk off with the girls. They then stand on the sidelines with the drill team during the rest of halftime and then go back to the line for the boys to run through. Alot right!!! It does make us a little nervous to see our babies standing inches from huge football players running by!!!

FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN!!!!!

Ready or not, the day is here. I thought Matt and I were ready...yea, no we were not. I've had a few random cries over the last week or two, but I felt they were over and I was ready for this morning. She was very excited and pumped at 6:15am, which is very rare for this family!!!! We got her dressed and ready and on our way. Matt and I were still okay, tear free. She walked right in to her room, not scared, actually she didn't even say good bye to us!!! I had to leave, the tears were about to flow. Matt went to tell her bye and we both about ran to the car so no one would see the two big cry babies!!! We cried all the way home. Gracie asked more than once why are you crying, what's wrong. So sweet, it's like she knew. The day was weird, VERY quite around here. But, man she had a ball. Wow, we have a little girl now, no more baby. All you with little one's, get ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to a birthday party at Harbour Girl in Rockwall. WOW, did they have fun!!! And WOW, do they use ton's of glitter!!!! The girls got their makeup and hair done and they got to dress up and sing and dance. Maggie and Gracie's favorites things to do.

The circus was really fun, Maggie, Gracie and Wyatt were amazed by it all. I love the picture were they are all just staring, mouths open at all the excitment. Our girls aren't to big on LOUD noises. When they noticed the big cannon ball was about to shoot, they were prepared!!!

We took a short trip to the booming town of Lubbock, Texas this last weekend for Bart and Tikka's wedding. Matt was the best man and the girls were flowergirls, they all did a great job. Some of the pictures are fuzzy, I didn't want to use the flash during the ceremony, but most turned out really good.

Well, this is our first blogspot and I just wanted to share our wonderful family with everyone. Matt and I are so very blessed to have such wonderful, loving families and 2 amazing daughters. God has blessed us in so many ways, and we are so thankful. Maggie is 5 (wow) and Gracie is 2 (almost 3). I can't believe that Matt and I have been married for 8 years, man does time fly. We hope you enjoy our pictures and don't mind us sharing them with you. Love to all.
